Winner: Big SEE Interior Design Award in Retail

Mug ’n’ Hug transforms a 1970s 120 m² shop into a coffee-and-tea retail space in Limassol. Preparation and display areas sit at opposite edges of the plan, with the zone of purchase and workshop in between — a clear layout that reflects ritual and function. Birch plywood becomes the signature material: its surface treated and layered to reflect affordable indulgence. White horizontal planes and black accents keep atmosphere light yet distinct. Mobile furniture, exposed machinery, outside seating that touches the street — the design invites participation and momentary pause. Mug ’n’ Hug is a space where serving and socialising meet quietly, with craft and clarity.
