Colour Park
competition entry
The proposal imagines a park where nature, city, and human presence merge into a single living field. Colour — understood not as hue but as condition — becomes the organising principle: a reflection of coexistence, transition, and transformation.
A gentle axis threads through two ground levels, linking the urban fabric around it. From this line, three basins unfold — for play, sport, and expression — connected by a square of leisure. Each accommodates a specific use, yet all remain open to overlap and exchange.
The park borrows from the geometry and temperament of Paphos: modernist clarity softened by Mediterranean vegetation. It behaves as an extension of the pedestrian network rather than a destination apart — a place where everyday movement becomes social encounter.
The intention is to cultivate an urban attitude: a way of living that embraces coexistence, dialogue, and awareness. Through shared materials, hybrid functions, and open thresholds, the park encourages a sense of belonging — an evolving landscape that grows with its city and its people.
