Psychologist Practice

Photographs: DEC Audiovisual

The space is crafted for a psychologist working with parents, adolescents and children. It occupies a ground-floor former cold-storage unit in Limassol, Cyprus, redesigned to hold both private dialogue and weekly group presentation.

A concrete ramp leads to the entrance. Inside, a foyer-lobby opens both as standalone waiting room and, when required, expands into the office beyond. On one side lie the service areas: kitchenette and toilet. Directly opposite the door, a pair of double-doors leads into the consultant’s room.

Every detail responds to the dual demands of quiet intimacy and collective session. Sound-insulation was measured to yield –30 dB between room and lobby when the door closes. Hidden-frame doors, bespoke furniture, clear surfaces—all designed with a child-sensitive palette but professional precision. A two-way sound-system offers additional acoustic control when required.

In short: a calming, responsive container for psychological work — where solitude and gathering share the same architecture, and where every threshold is considered, measured, human.
